My Approach to Therapy

Person-Centered approach believes  that you are the expert of your own life  and  provides a supportive and facilitating relationship to help you access your own inner resources and wisdom.

Therapy tailored to you

Jimmy Fitzgerald is an integrative therapist who believes there is no single approach that suits every client. His practice is rooted in Person-Centred therapy, which empowers clients to define and clarify their own goals within a supportive therapeutic relationship.

To best serve his clients, Jimmy draws on a range of methodologies including Existential therapy, Family Systems, and Intergenerational patterns to provide deeper insight into presenting issues. He also incorporates practical techniques such as breathwork, grounding exercises, and art to support the therapeutic process.

My Integrative Framework:

  • Person-Centred Therapy: The Client knows where to go.  Creating a space where you can explore your feelings without judgment.

  • Existential Therapy: Exploring questions of meaning, freedom, choice and responsibility in your life.

  • Family & Intergenerational Systems:  Understanding how  family background and relationships may influence present challenges.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy considering the clients past as well as present and the unconscious actions of the client and where this may lead.

Practical Tools:
I often incorporate mindfulness-based practices to help manage anxiety and stress in the moment, including:

  • Breathwork and Grounding Techniques

  • Guided Meditation

  • Creative and Art-Based Exploration
